Oddball Drum Machine
We all know about the simple office pastime of bouncing tennis balls off the wall. Much to the chagrin of our coworkers, you can now use the Oddball to make unique drum beats and loops by doing just that. This fun little device is currently funding on Kickstarter and is down-sized drum machine thats been encased in a bouncy ball that you can throw, drop and bounce to activate. The Oddball acts as the percussion trigger and the internal sensors can translate the noises via Bluetooth to the Oddball mobile app. Intensity is control by the force of the bounces and for the more advanced audio mixers the drum machine can act as a MIDI controller used in apps like Pro Tools, Ableton, Logic Pro and Garageband. The ball charges over USB and ships with the companies own app that is preloaded with multiple effects and audio tools.
USB93 - Unbreakable Cable
How many times have your usb cables tangled, frayed, and been rendered useless? Probably too many to count. It seems like I should have plenty of cables by now -- they give you one with every device, not to mention the ones I’ve bought on my own, or the ones that come with accessories, etc. So why am I always struggling to find one, let alone one that works reliably? It’s because in the past these cables have been an afterthought, a cheap way to get power from your outlet to the real show stopper, your phone. There have been other good cables in the past where people specifically set out to create a quality cable, but they all suffered from their own issues. If the cables were too rigid they had to sacrifice comfort and useability and could be susceptible to breaking. Too much give and they would be susceptible to that all familiar tearing. The USB93 uses what’s actually a very simple solution to utilize the benefits of both cables without any of the downsides. The braided nylon cable is tough and tangle free, and the adjustable socket joint means that you can orient your cable any way that you need without risking the wear and tear associated with that on regular cables. The Indie Go Go is already well past being funded, but it’s not too late to jump in and get in on the action.
