Sony Aibo Robot Dog
Sony released a first version of this robot dog several years ago, but due to the limitations in robotics at the time it was pretty basic by today's standards. This latest iteration of the Sony Aibo features dozens of modern advancements that include artificial intelligence in addition to robotics. The look and feel of the robot is much more friendly and welcoming and actually resembles a real dog as opposed to the clunky sci-fi pet look of its predecessor. The movements are fluid and natural thanks to the ultracompact 1 and 2 axis actuators. The internal software is what makes the major difference with the Aibo, allowing it to learn and understand your preferences as well as your home and other environments that it will be spending time with. If you're not ready for the commitment of a real pet that you requires actual food and exercise, then this little guy might be just what you're looking for.

USB93 - Unbreakable Cable
How many times have your usb cables tangled, frayed, and been rendered useless? Probably too many to count. It seems like I should have plenty of cables by now -- they give you one with every device, not to mention the ones I’ve bought on my own, or the ones that come with accessories, etc. So why am I always struggling to find one, let alone one that works reliably? It’s because in the past these cables have been an afterthought, a cheap way to get power from your outlet to the real show stopper, your phone. There have been other good cables in the past where people specifically set out to create a quality cable, but they all suffered from their own issues. If the cables were too rigid they had to sacrifice comfort and useability and could be susceptible to breaking. Too much give and they would be susceptible to that all familiar tearing. The USB93 uses what’s actually a very simple solution to utilize the benefits of both cables without any of the downsides. The braided nylon cable is tough and tangle free, and the adjustable socket joint means that you can orient your cable any way that you need without risking the wear and tear associated with that on regular cables. The Indie Go Go is already well past being funded, but it’s not too late to jump in and get in on the action.

Ghostek soDrop 2 Bluetooth Headphones
What do we look for in Bluetooth headphones? Well obviously they have to have good sound quality. A lot of Bluetooth headphones skimp out on the bass either to cut corners or to save on battery life. That said, they have to have exceptional battery life. If we’re going to be taking these headphones with us on the go, they have to last all day. And it naturally follows that if they can last all day, well they have to be comfortable to wear for extended periods of time too. And for all of this we’d rather not have to pay an arm and a leg. Some headphones are completely unexceptional in all of those areas but are still outrageously priced. Sound quality, battery life, comfort, well priced. Those are the big ones and the Ghostek soDrop 2 Bluetooth headphones ticks all of those boxes. The sound quality is great, with deep bass, the battery can deliver 14 hours of music playback, the soft leather ear cups are comfortable and smooth, and it’s priced well below similar products of similar grade quality.

POWERUP 3.0 Smartphone Controlled Paper Airplane
Everyone has their own perfect paper airplane design, but now you can power those up with the POWERUP 3.0 Smartphone Controlled Paper Airplane engine. It can attach to almost any paper airplane design, and it’s controlled from your smartphone. Conceptually it’s clearly pretty simple, but the crash proof design and reliable Bluetooth capabilities, alone with the designs and extras included in the kit, makes this a fun gadget worth picking up. It’s fun for all ages. The product does rely on relatively straightforward aerodynamics. There are no stabilizers or horizontal props that we’re used to seeing in drones these days, so if your paper airplane folding skills aren’t the best, or if the weather isn’t cooperating, it might throw a wrench into the works, but when conditions are great it’s tons of fun. And right now you can get a good deal for it on amazon for under $50.

One thing you’ll notice about almost every Bluetooth speaker is that they always look like a Bluetooth speaker. It delivers a surprisingly good audio experience. Of course you will be paying a premium against similar quality speakers in the same market, but if looking good is important to you then this subtle and stylish speaker is the way to go.

UBOH 5-in-1 Pocket-Sized Phone and Tablet Stand
Every once in awhile a product comes out that changes the game on a concept everyone thought was pretty well set in stone. This stand from UBOH takes all preconceived ideas of a phone a tablet stand and tosses them out the window. While similar products rely on simple folding actions and locking mechanisms, the UBOH 5-in-1 Pocket-Sized Phone and Tablet Stand uses microsuction and magnets to keep your phone in place. You can stick it against a mirror or refrigerator or the dashboard of your car, and the microsuction, although it sticks like an adhesive, is completely reusable and leaves behind no residue. The product is also washable, and can be configured to act as a tripod for a family photo with everyone in it, or to get that perfect selfie. It’s available now for preorder from IndieGoGo, and that might be the best way to get your hands on this unique stand before everyone else, and at an early bird price point, just $24 if you’re fast enough to snag one of the currently 150 available “super early bird” stands.

Vizio P-Series Quantum
Whether you have your TV in a bright room and just can’t get over the glare, or maybe you just want to see the full spectrum of color, or perhaps you just want the best quality out there, the Vizio P-Series Quantum is the TV for you. They use what they’re calling “UltraBright 2000” technology, which just means that the TV can achieve 2,000 nits of brightness. For those of you who don’t know what a nit is, it measures brightness and 2,000 is really bright. The display also has excellent fidelity of contrast, so the bright parts of whatever you’re watching get really bright, and the dark parts stay super dark. With all the other perks of a new smart TV, this 4K display might just be the perfect TV for anyone looking to blow their friends away with an ultra bright display, or anyone fighting the living room glare.

Moment Pro Camera App
Now that just about every new smartphone off the shelf has a DSLR-killing camera, the concept of third party apps to take and edit pictures has sort of fallen out of use. After all, if your pics come hot off of the default camera app looking great, there’s no longer a need for fifty filters or major edits to make them look presentable anymore. However, if you’re looking to go the extra mile these days and produce some of the best pictures possible on a mobile device, the Moment Pro camera App might just be what you’re looking for. In fact, one of the things that DSLRs have over some of the best smartphone cameras, especially the iPhone, is the ability to customize all of the settings. The Moment Pro Camera App gives you the power to change every setting from iso, to focus, to white balance, on your mobile device, and that’s alongside all the other editing and processing features you would expect from a camera app. So maybe the iPhone X camera really is a DSLR-killer, if used in combination with this handy app.

Anker Nebula Capsule
The Anker Nebula Capsule is an all in one package. Similar devices are often much larger and require additional components in order to really function like external speakers, but the Anker Nebula Capsule has it all, and all in the size of a soda can. To be fair, the image brightness does leave just a little bit to be desired, but when you consider the size of the device, the ease of use, and the fact that it includes high quality speakers, it’s easy to be a little bit forgiving and simply draw the curtains a little tighter. It’s perfect for everything from office presentations on the road to turning your campsite into a movie theater. And at around $350 from Anker it’s accessibly priced.

SD to Lightning Adapter
One of the best pieces of travel gear for any photographer out there is a device which lets you import photos and videos from any SD card directly onto your phone. Although the concept is simple, many don’t think about how convenient it is to own. While some cameras these days do have the ability to wirelessly import photos to your mobile devices, most don’t, and even when they do the process can be a little counterintuitive, and doesn’t compare to the peace of mind and quality of image that comes with importing the file directly to your phone. The plug and play nature of the process is straightforward and easy. Simply plug in the adapter to your iPhone and an import screen will automatically pop up. It’s that easy. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to have the highest quality images of a DSLR combined with the shareability of a mobile device, and it’s great for travel when you might not have a full computer with you to import the files. Although even for everyday use sometimes it’s just better to cut out the middle man. You can get it directly from Apple for around $30, but we recommend getting a third party adapter. They’re the same hardware, but for sometimes only a third of the price, like the one from Walmart available now for just under $10.
